Faith and Work
When the prayer ends, disperse through the land and seek of Allah's bounty — worship and work are one rhythm, not rivals.
Qur'anic Reference · Al-Jumu'ah 62:10
English Translation
“Then when the prayer is finished, disperse through the land and seek of Allah's bounty, and remember Allah much, so that you may succeed.”
Bengali Translation
“অতঃপর সালাত সমাপ্ত হলে তোমরা জমিনে ছড়িয়ে পড়ো এবং আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ সন্ধান করো, আর আল্লাহকে বেশি বেশি স্মরণ করো, যাতে তোমরা সফলকাম হও।”
The moral, reflection, and application sections below are educational guidance inspired by the cited verse — they are not a translation or an authoritative tafsir.
Primary Moral
Earn with the same faith you pray with — honest work after worship is itself a command obeyed.
Why This Matters
Some treat religion as an escape from work, others treat work as an excuse from religion. This ayah refuses the split: the same verse that gathers believers for Friday prayer sends them back out to the marketplace — with dhikr carried along like a lamp.
Reflection
Provision is named 'Allah's bounty' — so the office, the field, and the shop are places where His favour is sought, not detours from piety. The verse's final ingredient is the safeguard: remember Allah much, so the seeker of bounty does not slowly become a worshipper of it. Success is promised to the one who holds both threads.
Real-Life Application
Bracket your workday with worship: begin after prayer with bismillah, and let dhikr ride along in commutes and breaks. Work with the professionalism of someone seeking Allah's bounty — punctual, honest, thorough — because the Provider is watching the seeking.
Reflection Question
Does your work pull you away from prayer, or does your prayer send you back to work with cleaner intentions?
Action for Today
After your next prayer, walk straight into your hardest task with bismillah — and keep a dhikr on your tongue through it.
