The Power of Du'a

'Call upon Me; I will respond to you' — a standing invitation from the Lord of the worlds, with no gatekeeper and no office hours.

Qur'anic Reference · Ghafir 40:60

English Translation

“And your Lord says: 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you.' Indeed, those who are too proud to worship Me will enter Hell humiliated.”

The moral, reflection, and application sections below are educational guidance inspired by the cited verse — they are not a translation or an authoritative tafsir.

Primary Moral

Ask Allah directly, often, and for everything — du'a is the believer's open line.

Why This Matters

People exhaust every worldly contact before remembering the One who owns all outcomes. The verse also reframes not-asking: skipping du'a is not independence but a quiet arrogance toward the Provider.

Reflection

The response is promised — astajib lakum — though its form and timing remain with the Wise: sometimes the thing itself, sometimes protection worth more, sometimes a reward saved for the Day it matters most. No du'a is wasted; the only losing move is not calling.

Real-Life Application

Build du'a into the answered hours: the last third of the night, between adhan and iqamah, while breaking a fast, in sujud. Keep a short written list of your three biggest needs and present it daily like a standing appointment.

Reflection Question

Which worry have you carried for weeks without once laying it out fully before Allah?

Action for Today

Tonight, in your own language, ask Allah for the three things you want most — specifically and unhurriedly.
