The Shade of Taqwa
Ten times the surah warns the deniers — then shows the God-conscious resting in shade and springs. Taqwa is shelter, here and hereafter.
Qur'anic Reference · Al-Mursalat 77:41–42

English Translation
“Indeed, the righteous will be amid shades and springs, and fruits of whatever they desire.”
Bengali Translation
“নিশ্চয়ই মুত্তাকিরা থাকবে ছায়া ও ঝর্নাধারার মাঝে, আর তাদের কাঙ্ক্ষিত ফলমূলে।”
The moral, reflection, and application sections below are educational guidance inspired by the cited verse — they are not a translation or an authoritative tafsir.
Primary Moral
Choose taqwa in the heat of temptation — the shade comes to those who endured the sun.
Why This Matters
Restraint feels like loss in the moment — the declined bribe, the lowered gaze, the resisted shortcut. The verse reframes the ledger: what taqwa forgoes is temporary heat; what it earns is permanent shade, springs, and desire finally fulfilled without regret.
Reflection
The surah's refrain — 'woe that Day to the deniers' — tolls ten times like a bell, and then this scene opens: the same Day that ruins deniers shelters the mindful. Taqwa is often pictured as deprivation; the Qur'an pictures it as arriving early at the oasis everyone else is still marching toward.
Real-Life Application
Identify today's hottest temptation — the easy lie, the shady earning, the glance — and consciously stand in the sun: refuse it for Allah, and say to yourself, 'this is the price of the shade.' Pair every act of restraint with the memory of these two verses.
Reflection Question
Which act of restraint do you keep postponing because its reward is not immediate — and what does that say about your ledger?
Action for Today
Refuse one tempting shortcut today purely for Allah — and privately name it your deposit toward the shade.
